The AFD has funded several mega power projects in Kenya, ranging from geothermal, wind and transmission lines. First off French development agency (AFD) that has seen electrification rate surge to 74 percent of the population, from just about a third in 2013. This is due to increased low‑cost connectivity of homes to the grid as a result of network expansion and increased power generation from new plants, made possible by the availability of funds from multilateral lenders like the AFD and World Bank.
